Show Reviews

"A good crowd attended the final night of the Festival in Liberty Hall theatre on Sunday May 16th. We were treated to a snippet of all the festival's main productions and some special guest appearances in a night of true theatre.

Such was the standard that some in the audience openly regretted not having attended some of the plays presented earlier in the Festival. The programme was varied, well balanced, and pleasantly and professionally presented by Darren Kennedy.

It is impossible to pick highlights, but the addition to the festival productions of performances of Andrew Madden's autobiography of an abused childhood 'Altar Boy', Mark Power's excellent and original music and Tony Flynn's extract from Torch Song Trilogy alone, made the event a triumph.

Each of the productions presented short extracts which also included excellent performances from Graham Cruz, Alan Kinsella, The Musical Workshop, Biscuits for Breakfast (on two counts), in fact the entire programme was of such a standard to provide an excellent night of theatre and song, building a strong foundation for a thriving festival which was also announced for the first fortnight in May 2005. " - Gordon Farrell, Scene City - June 2004
