Let’s Celebrate LGBT+ Identity in All Its Forms

Join us on a whirlwind tour from the streets of modern New York and Dublin to Victorian London and 1920’s Paris … from heaven to hell.

Across time and place our plays celebrate our identities – as individuals and as a community.

Our heroes and heroines are stepping away from the ordinary and discovering who they really are –  through religion, sex, youth, romance, drugs, art, violence and love.

Young LGBT people and questioning ‘straight’ men, artists and rent-boys, illegal immigrants and proud trans women, Mormons and boxers

Their stories are funny, romantic, dramatic, erotic and inspirational.

Table Quiz Thank You

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Table Quiz at Street 66 recently, and who helped make this very important fundraising event a fun-filled success. A special thank you to quizmaster Conor Clear and our volunteers, to everyone who took part on the night, to those who donated spot and other prizes, and to Street 66 for being such a welcoming venue.

IDGTF 2017 is on its way!

We are working hard on finalising the programme of IDGTF 2017 which will be announced on March 30th.

We will present:

IDGTF 2017 is coming!

We are busy working on an exciting programme of theatre for the 14th International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival which runs from May 1 – 14 2017.

You are warmly invited to be a part of this unique, welcoming and unforgettable event in one of Europe’s most fun cities.

Visitors:

Why not organise a trip to Dublin to this unique and friendly event?

  • We will host the best of Irish and international LGBT-related theatre in a range of venues conveniently located in Dublin city centre.
  • There will be drama, comedy, music, cabaret and more – including free events, a nightly Festival Club and talks and seminars.
  • In a single weekend you can see up to 6 shows (2 Friday, 4 Saturday) not to mention our free events.  To help plan your visit please email boxoffice@gaytheatre.ie.
  • Tickets are excellent value at only €15/€13 (or just €10 for weekend matinees).  In addition we offer discounts for groups of 8 or more.
  • Tip: why not join us for the climax of the Festival – our closing Gala Awards Night on Sunday May 14th at 8pm.  You can enjoy a great night of highlights from the Festival, our awards and a late-night party.

IDGTF at Edinburgh Fringe 2016

We are at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 from August 18th to 23rd seeking relevant works for our 14th annual Festival in 2017.

If you have a work of theatre, dance, cabaret, music or other works with an LGBT theme, relevance or exploring gender and sexuality then we want to hear from you!

To our past participants and friends and supporters at the Fringe we would also like to hear from you.

We will also be at the Promoter’s Breakfast in the Arts Industry Office on Sunday 21st August.

If we can’t see your work…

We are trying to see as many relevant works as possible.  However if we can’t get to see your work we still want to hear from you.

Please get in touch and provide us with some information about your show.  If it takes place after we leave Edinburgh we can arrange for a Festival associate to see it.  Otherwise email us and provide as much information as you can about the work … scripts, images, recorded footage etc.
