Everett Klippert,  a beloved bus driver in Calgary, Alberta, was the last person to be jailed for homosexuality in Canada, before the historic announcement by Prime Minister Trudeau Sr. that there was “no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation”” and subsequent decriminalization of homosexuality.  

Historian Maxine is fascinated by Everett’s case and interviews ‘Handsome’, a former lover of Klippert who illuminates Calgary’s gay history for her.
